fleurs.

i picked up these sunglasses at this cool vintage shop with my friend lindsey this week. for some odd reason, they remind me of mickey mouse, but i think it's probably just his ears. i have had a closet obsession with any and all things mickey mouse since birth, including the giant stuffed version of him i had as a toddler. something about him reminds me to be a little carefree, which i take to heart, especially in the midst of all this unnecessary high school stress. you know, sometimes it's nice to slap on a pair of sunglasses three times the size of your eyes and act like the cool kid who couldn't care less.

what i wore: zara sweater, forever 21 dress, urban outfitters boots, nordstrom bag, vintage sunglasses.

stars in their eyes.

my hair has entered its terrible two's and now refuses to listen to anything i tell it to do. my tried and true regime of mousse and anti-frizz cream is now no match for "the ringlets". i'm not quite sure how to deal with this sort of rebellious behavior and would appreciate any and all help from someone with expertise in this area. i only developed a lion's mane two or three years ago and am still learning all the secrets to curly hair. so far, wearing bold colors and loud prints seems to provide enough distraction from whatever is going on with my mop of hair. probably not the professional solution, but black and white stars is perfectly fine for me.

what i wore: maison scotch shirt, joe's jeans, urban outfitters boots, francesca's collections ring, nordstrom earrings.

high life.

the fact that i managed to get away with wearing a miller shirt to school still shocks me. it makes for a pretty good story though, which means it was worth the constant concern that the dean was going to pop up in front of me. regardless, i managed to stay fairly incognito for the whole day (with the exception of some loud-mouthed friends who enjoy embarrassing me) and the day went on to be as boring and uneventful as any other school day. personally, i think that any time you get a good reaction out of something you wear, you must be doing something right. so here's to more dress code violations and a happy, happy school year!

what i wore: ragstock jacket, thrifted shirt, zara jeans, urban outfitters boots, spitfire sunglasses, francesca's collections ring .
